October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I have a good friend struggling with this terrible disease and hope you'll visit the National Breast Campaign for information.

I feel for your friend because I myself am facing further tests after my mammogram. First time they've wanted that. I waited 4 years to have one because of tech I got last time. But everywhere I go I am reminded of what time of year it is. I had my physical because of an ankle fusion. Did not expect to be hit with this news on top of surgery. Oct. 19th I go for more tests.

Thinking of you, Squirej. I am wishing the best. Sometimes you go for a while with the tests and then nothing appears. Very scary time, tho. It's always best to stay with the program, tho.

Thanks for posting the reminder. I have a friend just finishing her year of fighting breast cancer. Fortunately, the treatment worked. Wish it could be so for all women with breast cancer.

Squires, what was the result of your tests?

As a breast cancer survivor, I'm one who is always willing to listen & give my 2 cents worth. In Feb. '08, I will hit my 5 yr. mark!

If it is breast cancer, it is beatable--keep a positive attitude, it helps!
